Terms of Service — Bound

These Terms govern your use of Bound, a React Native/Expo reading tracker provided by Snowdrop Labs Ltd. By creating an account or using Bound, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 (or 16 where applicable) and legally permitted to use Bound.
2. Service description
Bound lets you sign up, search books via Open Library, add/manage your library, track reading stats and goals, view weekly/monthly progress, and share progress. Data sync is provided via Supabase; analytics are provided via PostHog.
3. Accounts & security
- Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Notify us of unauthorised use.
4. Acceptable use
Do not misuse Bound. Prohibited conduct includes:
- Using Bound unlawfully or to infringe others' rights.
- Scraping, reverse engineering, or attempting to access source code or underlying databases.
- Interfering with or disrupting the service, including attempting to bypass security controls.
5. User content & license
You retain ownership of your book/library data. You grant Snowdrop Labs a limited, revocable licence to host and process it to operate and improve Bound.
Snowdrop Labs owns Bound, including code, design, and branding. You receive a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app.
6. Payments
Bound does not charge fees at this time. If we introduce paid features, we will update these Terms and present pricing and cancellation details.
7. Data & privacy
Your use of Bound is subject to the Bound Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
8. Availability & changes
Bound may change over time. We may add or remove features, or suspend the service to address security or operational needs.
9. Disclaimer
Bound is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties. We do not guarantee that data will never be lost—keep your own backups of important reading data.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Snowdrop Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 3 months before the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using Bound or delete your account (in-app if available, or by emailing us). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose risk to the service. Upon termination, access ends and we may retain minimal records as required by law or for short-term backups.
12. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales unless local law requires otherwise.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
